Hull resistance and stopping forces

At Hyke in Oslo, I ran computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to estimate the hydrodynamic resistance of electric ferry hulls under different weather conditions.

I used Savitsky calculations to check the CFD results, rather than relying on the simulations alone.

I then used those resistance estimates to calculate the forces needed for the boat to stop at its expected position during emergency autonomous maneuvers.
